استهي अस्थि asthi S s. m. A bone. S. اسي असत्यी (from अ and सत्य True) a-satyī, adj. Liar, untrue. ¶ असती (from अ and सती Virtuous wife) a-satī, adj. Disloyal or unchaste (a wife).

بان پرستهـ वानप्रस्थ bānaprastha S s. m. One who retires from the world with his wife and family, and passes his life in devotion in the fo- rests; an anchoret or hermit. See آسرم.

ستهل sithal शीतल S̱. adj. 1. Cold, cool. 2. Stupified, benummed (with fear, &c.).

ستهن suthan H s. m. Trousers.

ستهوارا sathwārā H s. m. A sweetmeat given to a childbed woman, &c.: see سٿهوڙا saṭhoṛā.

ستهيا sathiyā H s. m. 1. A surgeon. 2. A mark in form of a cross, the four arms of which are bent at right angles, prefixed in vermilion by Hindūs to their account books at the com- mencement of a new year. The same figure is formed on the ground with flour, at marriages and other ceremonies.

سستهل sisthal S̱. adj. Cold. See سيتل sītal.

مدهيستهـ मध्यस्थ madhyastha S s. m. A middle man, an umpire, arbitrator.

مرستهل मरुस्थल मरु A country void of water, a desert, and स्थल Place maru-sthal S. adj. Barren, dry, without water, desert.
