آجده ā-judh S (आयुध from आ and r. युध Fight) s. m. A weapon (in general).

ابجد abjad A s. m. A particular arrangement of the Arabic alphabet; the alphabet; a mode of denoting numbers by the letters of the alphabet.

ابجد خوان abjad-ḵẖẉān P s. m. One who is learning his alphabet.

اجداد ajdād A s. plur. (of جدّ jadd) Ancestors.

تجدد tajaddud A (inf. v. of جدّ) s. m. (from جدّ) Renewal, novelty.

تجديد tajdīd A (inf. ii. of جدّ) s. f. (from جدّ) Renewal, novelty.

تـﮩجد tahajjud A (inf. v. of هجد) s. m. 1. A form of prayer said during the night. 2. Wakefulness. 3. Sleeping sound.

تواجد tawājud A (inf. vi. of وجد q. v.) s. Mutual ecstacy, rapture.

جد jad यदा S̱. adv. As, while, whilst, when, as soon as, at the time when. جدتک يا تلک يا لگ jad-tak or -talak or -lag (यावत्) adv. Till, until, yet, whilst, as long as, while. جد نه تد jad na tad, adv. Constantly.

جدا judā P adj. Separate, distinct, away, apart, aside, asunder, absent, different, peculiar, extra- ordinary. جدا جدا judā judā, adj. Various, one by one, severally, separately. جدا جدا کـﮩنا judā judā kahnā, To particularize. جدا کرنا judā karnā, To separate, disjoin, part, disunite, de- tach, disengage, distinguish.

جدال jidāl A (inf. iii. of جدل) s. m. Alterca- tion, contest. جنگ وجدال jang-o-jidāl, s. m. Fighting, contention.
