برات barāt A s. f. A commission, a warrant, as- signment, letter.

برات barāt P s. f. The fourteenth day of the month Shaﻌbān, which is appropriated to the commemoration of ancestors. See شب برات shab-i-barāt (which name the day more commonly bears).

برات barāt व्रात S̱. s. f. The marriage pro- cession.

براتي barāt-ī व्राती S̱. s. m. The company and attendants at a marriage.
