اننا annā H s. m. A male nurse, or the husband of the nurse called انني annī, q. v. PORT. انناس anannās, s. m. A pineapple. PORT. H. انناسي anannās-ī, adj. Made like a pine- apple.

اننت अनन्त an-ant S 1. adj. Endless, eternal. 2. s. m. The chief of the Nāgas or serpent race that inhabit the infernal regions: the conch and constant attendant of Vish̤ṇu. 3. A cord with fourteen knots, which the Hindūs tie on their arm, on the fourteenth day of bhādoṅ, sukal pachchh̤, which is sacred to Vishnu, and called اننت چودس or اننت چتردسي.

بکهاننا bakhān-nā S̱. v. a. 1. To praise, to com- mend. 2. To explain, to define, to relate.

تاننا tānnā S̱. (तनन r. तन Stretch out) v. a. To extend, to stretch, to expand, to pull, to knit (the eyebrows). تنبوتاننا tambū tānnā, To pitch tents.

جاننا jānnā S̱. (ज्ञान from r. ज्ञा Know) v. a. To know, understand, comprehend, suppose, believe, deem, think, conceive, judge, account, esteem, fancy, to trust.

خواننده ḵẖẉānanda P part. pres. used substan- tively, A reader.

داننده dānanda P (from دانستن) part. Knowing, intelligent, skilled.

رامانندي rāmānandī रामानंदीय S̱. s. m. A sect of Hindū faḳīrs, believers in Rāma.

ساننا sānnā H (caus. of سننا sannā, q. v.) v. a. To knead, to mix up (flour, dough, earth, &c.), to impregnate, stain, soil, smear, defile.

ساننا sānnā S̱. (शानन r. शान Sharpen) v. a. To whet.

ماننا mānnā मानन S̱. v. a. See مانا mānnā. برا ماننا burā mānnā, To take amiss, to take as an affront. بهلا ماننا bhalā mānnā, To take in good part.

مانند mānand P (or mānind) s. f. m. Like, resem- bling, resemblance.

پـﮩچاننا pahchānnā S̱. or pahichānnā (प्रतिज्ञान) v. a. To know, to recognise, to discriminate, distinguish.

پچهاننا pichhānnā S̱. or pachhānnā (see پـﮩچاننا) v. a. To know, to be acquainted with, to recognise.
