پاپني pāpinī S or pāpnī, (पापिनी from पाप Crime) adj. f. A sin- ner, criminal, wicked (woman).

پهنسيارا phaṅsiyārā S̱. (from پهانسي q. v.) s. m. A footpad who strangles passengers or travellers.

پـﮩرانا pahrānā S̱. or pahirānā (परिधान) v. a. To cause to dress, to clothe, invest, to dress.

پوروا pūrwā पुर S̱. s. m. A small village.

پنياٴي punyāʼī S̱. (from पुण्य) s. f. 1. A vir- tuous action, performed (according to those who hold the doctrine of the metempsychosis) in one state of existence, the reward of which is received in a future transmigration. 2. Merit of an ancestor rewarded in his descendants.

پتيري patīrī S̱. (from پات) s. f. A kind of mat.

پهيلانا phailānā H (trans. of پهيلنا) v. a. To spread, scatter, expand, diffuse, widen, stretch out, ex- tend, distend, dilate, publish, proclaim, to branch out. پانوپهيلانا pāṅw phailānā, see un- der پانو pāṅw. هاتهـ پهيلانا hāth phailānā, To beg.

پهرپهند pharphand H s. m. Deceit, trick, wickedness.

پشتک pushtak P s. A vice in horses, plunging and kicking up behind.
