جهٿکنا jhaṭaknā H 1. v. a. To touse, twitch, pull, jerk. 2. v. n. To become lean; to shake. جهٿک لينا jhaṭak lenā, To snatch.

جلمي जलमय jalamai S s. m. Flood, inunda- tion.

جهڙکي jhiṛkī H or jhaṛkī, s. f. Rebuff, snappishness, frowning, jerk, repercussion.

جمله jumla A s. m. 1. The whole, the sum, ag- gregate, total, amount. في الجمله fi-l-jumla, Upon the whole. من جمله min jumla, From or out of the whole. 2. A sentence, clause. (Plur. جمل).

جهڙوانا jhaṛwānā H (caus. of جهاڙنا) v. a. To cause others to sweep.

جون javan S (यवन) s. m. A Greek, a Muhammadan or European invader of India. See s̱. يمن yaman.

جهکاو jhukāʼo H (from جهکنا jhuknā) s. m. The state of being bent downward, stoop.

جهوٿها jhūṭhā S̱. (जुष्ट or उच्छिष्ट) adj. 1. Liar, false. 2. (among Hindūs) That which has touched food and is thereby defiled. 3. Offal, refuse, left (food); s. m. Leavings of food. جهوٿاجهاٿا jhūṭā jhāṭā, s. m. Offals, left food. جهوٿهاچاٿنا jhūṭhā chāṭnā, To eat leavings, to be very wretched. جهوٿهي نپوچهنا jhūṭhī na pūchhnā, To refuse even common civility.

جمدهر jam-dhar S̱. (from यम Death, Jam, and धार Sharp edge) s. m. A dagger.

جهجنا jhijnā H v. n. (dakh. i. q. لاغرهونا) To be or become lean or emaciated.
