جـﮩ‍از jahāz A s. m. 1. A ship. 2. The tree of a camelʼs saddle. 3. A portion in the disposal of the wife. 4. Funeral apparatus. 5. Vulva, pudenda mulieris. جـﮩ‍ازپر jahāz par, adv. Aboard a ship. جـﮩ‍ازشکني jahāz-shikanī, s. f. Shipwreck.

جهجهکنا jhijhaknā H or jhajhaknā, v. n. To start or boggle, to feel the sensation of the limbs being asleep, or as if pins and needles were striking into them.

جريب jarīb H s. f. A sort of wooden dart with an iron point. جريب چلانا jarīb chalānā, To throw the jarīb.

جب jab यदा S̱. adv. When, at the time when, as soon as. جب تب jab-tab, Now and then. جب تک يا تلک يا توڙي jab-tak or -talak or -toṛī, adv. Till when, whilst, as long as. جب جب jab-jab, Whenever. جب سي jab se, Since. جب کا تب jab kā tab, adv. At the time when, at the proper moment. جب کبهي jab kabhī or جب کبهو jab kabhū, Whenever. جب که jab ki, adv. At the time when, when, since. جب لگ jab-lag, adv. till when, whilst, as long as. جب نه تب jab na tab, adv. Now and then, perpetually. جبـﮩ‍ي jab-hī, adv. At the very time.

جهٿنا jhaṭnā H v. n. (dakh.) 1. To become thin or lean, to diminish. 2. (i. q. مناظره کرنا) To dispute.

جبا jibā P s. m. Tax, revenue.

جنمانا janmānā S̱. (from जन्म) v. a. 1. To beget. 2. To make vegetate.

جهانجهي jhānjhī H s. f. A kind of play. (Chil- dren in the month of Āsin go about at night, dancing, begging, and carrying on their heads earthen pots perforated on all sides, within which lamps are kept burning).

جد jad यदा S̱. adv. As, while, whilst, when, as soon as, at the time when. جدتک يا تلک يا لگ jad-tak or -talak or -lag (यावत्) adv. Till, until, yet, whilst, as long as, while. جد نه تد jad na tad, adv. Constantly.
