جگدنبا जगदम्बा jagadambā S (Mother of the world) s. f. An epithet of a Hindū goddess, wife of Mahādeva.

جوتي juvati S or juvatī (युवति or युवती) s. f. A young woman, one from sixteen to thirty years of age.

جهاڙي jhāṛī H s. f. Forest, wood, underwood, brushwood, copse, bush, brake, shrub.

جهانوان jhāṅwāṅ S̱. s. m. See جهاما jhāmā.

جواري jūʼārī S̱. or jwārī or juʼārī (द्यूतकारी) s. m. 1. A gambler. 2. A thread stretched over the bridge of a musical instrument, beneath the cords, whereby the sound is said to be im- proved.

جرايم jarāʼịm A s. (plur. of جريمه) Faults, crimes, sins.

جتنا jitnā H m. adj. How much, so much, as much as, as many. (Sans. यावत्). جتني مين jitne meṅ, In as much (time) as.

جهنجهنا jhanjhanā H adj. Peevish, fretful.

جورو jorū H s. f. A wife. (Sans. जाया). S. جوڙ जोड (r. जुड Bind, join) joṛ, s. m. Junction, joint, joining, connexion, conjunction, a patch, a seam, society. جوڙدينا joṛ denā, To cast up, to add the sum. جوڙتوڙ joṛ-toṛ, s. m. جنا janā S̱. 1. (जन) s. m. A person, indivi- dual. 2. part. pass. (of جننا) Born; a son.
