اڙن uṛan S̱. (from اڙنا) adj. Flying.

ادام الله adāma-llāh A May God preserve (him).

ايمه aima A. s. m. (for aʼịmma, plur. of امام but used to denote) Land given as a reward or fa- vour by the king at a very low rent, a fief. (When no rent is paid, the land is called لااخراج lā ḵẖirāj). Charity lands. ايمه دار aima-dār, One who holds land in ايمه aima, a feoffee.

اپنتهہ a-panth S̱. (अ and पंथाः A road) s. m. A wrong or bad road, a devious track; heresy.

اسپند ispand P s. m. A seed burnt at marriages to drive away evil spirits: it is, also, burnt as a charm for the like purpose some days after a child is born, particularly at the door; and when a child goes out or comes home. It is often mixed on those occasions with mustard seed, and hence has been confounded with the latter (خردل).

اعلم aﻌlam A adj. (compar. of عالم) More or most wise.

اگراس अग्राश agrās S (अग्र First, and r. अश Eat) s. m. Victuals offered in oblations, sacrifices, &c. to the gods.

اٿواٿي کهٿواٿي لینا aṭwāṭī khaṭwāṭī lenā S̱. To be confined to bed in great trouble or affliction.

آملکي आमलकी āmalakī S s. f. See آملا āmlā.

انته پر अन्तःपुर अन्तर् Within, and पुर A town, a house antah-pur S. s. m. The inner apartments.
