جست jast P (from جستن) s. f. 1. A leap, jump, bound, spring. 2. Leaping, jumping. جست کرني يا مارني jast-karnī or -mārnī, To jump, leap, spring, bound.

جهونپڙا jhompṛā H s. m. A cottage, a hut.

جلبـﮩ‍ي jal-bahī S̱. (from جل and بـﮩنا q. v.) s. f. Swimming, striking with the arms and legs in water.

جـﮩ‍الت jahālat A s. f. Ignorance, barbarism, bru- tality.

جتوانا jutwānā S. (causal of جتانا jutānā, q. v.) v. a. To cause to join or yoke.

جهانجهي jhānjhī H s. f. A kind of play. (Chil- dren in the month of Āsin go about at night, dancing, begging, and carrying on their heads earthen pots perforated on all sides, within which lamps are kept burning).

جاري jārī A (from جريان) adj. Running, flowing, proceeding, current, usual. جاري جرنا jārī karnā, To begin, to set on foot, introduce (a custom), issue or put in force (an order). جاري هونا jārī honā, 1. To flow, issue. 2. To pass current, to be in force, to prevail, to proceed (as, business).

جرگه jarga P s. m. Forming a circle, putting in rank or row men and other animals; a flock or drove of deer, &c.

جهلنا jhulnā S̱. (r. दुल) v. n. To swing, to dangle.

جهلکانا jhalkānā S̱. (causal of جهلکنا) v. a. To cause to shine, brighten, burnish.
