تفوق tafauwuḳ A (inf. v. of فوق) s. m. 1. Pre- tending to a superiority over others. 2. Doing any thing by degrees.

تال tāl S s. m. 1. (ताल) Beating time (in musick), musical time or measure, chime. 2. Slapping or clapping the hands together or against the arms, &c. 3. A musical instrument of bell-metal or brass (a sort of cymbal) played with a stick. 4. (ताड) The palm tree. (Borassus flabelliformis). 5. (तडाग) A pond. تال دينا tāl denā, To chime: to slap the hands on the arms before fighting. تال مارنا ياٿهوکنا tāl-mārnā or -ṭhoknā, To strike the hand against the arms preparatory to wrestling.

تني tinnī H s. f. A kind of rice.

تشخص tashaḵẖḵẖus A (inf. v. of شخص) s. m. Identifying, particularizing, appropriation.

تودري todrī P s. f. The seed of mallows.

تلامذ talāmiẕ A s. pl. (of تلميذ) Students, scho- lars.

تيندوا teṅdūʼā H s. m. A leopard. (Felis leopar- dus).

تشيع مذهب tashaiyuﻌ-maẕhab A 1. Heresy. 2. The sect of shīʼaﻌ, followers of Alī. See شيعه.

تهمڙا thamṛā H adj. Thick, corpulent.

تمنا tamannā A (for تمني inf. v. of مني) s. f. Re- quest, wish, prayer, supplication, inclination, petition. تمناکش tamannā-kash, adj. Desirous.
