تفضيل tafẓīl A (inf. ii. of فضل) Excellence, pre- eminence. اسم تفضيل ism-i-tafẓīl, An adjective in the comparative or superlative degree.

تچهـ तुच्छ tuchh S adj. 1. Void, empty. 2. Contemptible, despicable, worthless.

تضمين taẓmīn A (inf. ii. of ضمن) s. f. 1. Giving satisfaction for an injury. 2. Comprehending or including one thing in another. 3. Inserting the verses of another in oneʼs own poem. 4. Giving security. 5. Intrusting with another. 6. Lending on interest. 7. Putting in a purse or strong box. تضمين کرنا taẓmīn karnā, To insert the verses of another in oneʼs own poem, making the one correspond with the other.

تسنيم tasnīm A (from سنم) s. A water or foun- tain of paradise.

تکفير takfīr A (inf. ii. of کفر or کفاره) s. f. 1. Co- vering. 2. Expiating a crime, doing penance or paying a mulct as atonement. 3. Humbling oneʼs self before another (putting the hand upon the breast, and inclining the head), showing distant respect. 4. Accusing one of impiety, calling him infidel, making one an unbeliever. 5. Guiltiness.

تشابه tashābuh A (inf. vi. of شبه) s. m. Simi- litude, resemblance, likeness.

تفته tafta P (for تافته part. pass. of تافتن) 1. adj. Hot, burning, melted. (Plur. تفتگان). 2. s. m. Quick lime.

تغافل tag̠ẖāful A (from غفلت) s. m. 1. Negli- gence, neglect, indifference, inattention, inadver- tency. 2. Being absorbed as in sleep, &c. تغافل شعار tag̠ẖāful-shiʼāﻌr or تغافل کيش tag̠ẖā- ful-kesh, adj. Careless, inattentive. تغافل شعاري tag̠ẖāful-shiʼāﻌr-ī, s. f. Inattention, carelessness.
