تدريس tadrīs A (inf. ii. of درس) s. f. Giving lectures, instruction by means of reading.

ترقب taraḳḳub A (inf. v. of رقب) s. m. Con- templating, expectation, hoping.

تزيلا tazelā P. s. m. A tāzī (Arab) colt.

تٿهـ tuṭh H s. (dakh.) The sound of wood snapping. تٿهـ جانا tuṭh jānā, To snap or break.

تهوپنا thopnā S̱. (r. स्तूप Heap up) v. a. 1. To support, to prop. 2. To plaster. 3. To pile, to heap.

تاوان tāwān P s. m. 1. Retaliation, recompense, amends. 2. Debt. 3. Fine, mulct. 4. Loan. (تاوان is used in opposition to قصاص ḳiṣāṣ, and means the price paid for blood). تاوان باندهنا يا لينا tāwān-bāndhnā or -lenā, To fine, to mulct. تاوان لگانا tāwān lagānā, To amerce.

تيرتهـ तीर्थ tīrath S or tīrth, s. m. A holy spot, place of pilgrimage; especially, at sacred waters. تيرتهـ راج तीर्थराज tīrth-rāj, The city of Ilāhābād.

تلاٴي tilāʼī H s. f. A small fryingpan.

تٿولنا taṭolnā H v. a. (dakh.) See ٿٿولنا ṭaṭolnā.

تکسر takassur A (inf. v. of کسر) s. m. 1. Being broken or shattered, spent or debilitated. 2. Carrying (figures, in arithmetick). 3. Folding up the wings (as a bird when about to cease from flight).
