تکيه takiya P s. m. 1. A pillow, bolster. 2. A faḳīrʼs stand. 3. The reserve of an army. 4. Reliance. تکيه دار takiya-dār, A faḳīr, a dervis. تکيه دينا takiya denā, To receive respectfully. تکيه کرنا takiya karnā, To support, to encourage. تکيه کسي پرکرنا takiya kisī par karnā, To de- pend upon. تکيه کلام takiya-kalām, or سخن تکيه suḵẖan-takiya, s. m. A cant word intro- duced into oneʼs conversation without any meaning, an expletive. تکيه لگانا takiya lagānā, To lean, to bolster. تکيه نشين takiya-nishīn, A faḳīr, a dervis.

تحقيق taḥḳīḳ A (inf. ii. of حقّ) 1. s. f. Ascer- taining, ascertainment, investigation, trial, verifi- cation, exactness, precision. 2. Truth, certain- ty. 3. adj. Authentick, ascertained, actual, real, indubitable, apparent. 4. adv. Truly, in- deed. (Plur. تحقيقات taḥḳīḳāt, Inquiry, inves- tigation, &c.). تحقيق کرنا taḥḳīḳ karnā, To ascertain, investigate, inspect. A.P. تحقيقي taḥḳīḳ-ī, adj. Certain, real.

تابنده tābanda P (from تافتن) part. Shining.

تيرتهـ तीर्थ tīrath S or tīrth, s. m. A holy spot, place of pilgrimage; especially, at sacred waters. تيرتهـ راج तीर्थराज tīrth-rāj, The city of Ilāhābād.

تڙايا taṛāyā H s. m. Gaudiness in dress, wearing smart clothes. تڙايا دار taṛāyā-dār, s. m. One who dresses well and is particular in having fine and well made clothes.

تهل thal स्थल S̱. s. m. 1. Place, firm or dry ground. 2. A lionʼs or tigerʼs den. See تهر thar. تهل بيڙا thal beṛā (स्थल and वेटप) Place of abode and means of attaining oneʼs de- sires. تهلچر thal-char, adj. Moving on land, terrestrial (an animal).

تيـﮩر tehar H s. f. Name of an ornament for fe- males worn round the ankles.

تليـﮩـه tilaiha H s. m. A turtle dove.

تاريکي tārīk-ī P s. f. Darkness.

تگاٴي tagāʼī H (from تگانا) s. f. 1. The price paid for quilting, &c. 2. The act of quilting.
