تنگ tang P adj. 1. Strait, tight, narrow, confined. 2. Wanting, scarce, scanty, barren. 3. Distressed, dejected, sad. s. m. 4. A horsebelt, a girth. 5. A bag, a sack, half a horseʼs, bul- lockʼs, or camelʼs load. تنگ آنا tang ānā, or تنگ آنا ba tang ānā, To be distressed, distract- ed or incommoded, to be exhausted, to be de- jected. تنگ پوش tang-posh, adj. Tightly dressed, wearing tight clothes. تنگ پوشي tang- posh-ī, s. f. Tightness of dress. تنگ چشم tang-chashm, adj. Miserly, niggardly. تنگ حال tang-ḥāl, adj. Poor, distressed, straitened in circumstances. تنگ حالي tang-ḥāl-ī, s. f. Po- verty, distress, narrow circumstances. تنگ حوصله tang-ḥausila, adj. Unable to keep any thing secret, blab. تنگ درزي tang-darz-ī, s. f. Close stitching. تنگ دست tang-dast, adj. Poor, distressed, miserly, stingy. تنگ دستي tang-dast-ī, s. f. 1. Poverty, want, inability. 2. Parsimony. تنگ دل tang-dil, adj. Narrow-hearted, miserly, niggard, illiberal. تنگدلي tang-dil-ī, s. f. Narrow-heartedness; niggardliness, stinginess, parsimony. تنگ دهن tang-dahan, adj. Small-mouthed; an epithet of a sweetheart. تنگ کرنا tang-karnā, 1. To straiten, to tighten, to narrow, to contract. 2. To distress. تنگ لينا tang-lenā, To tighten, to take in, to contract. بتنگ هونا ba-tang honā, To be in distress or dif- ficulty, to be distracted or harrassed, to be ex- hausted or tired.

تلواسنا talwāsnā H v. a. Spoken of the feet of an animal which are worn by treading on hard rocky ground.

تهوهر thūhar H s. m. The name of a plant. (Euphorbia neriifolia. Roxb.).

تلوا tilūʼā S̱. (from तिल) s. m. A kind of sweet- meat (eaten, particularly, by the Hindūs when the Sun enters Capricorn).

ترشح tarashshuḥ A (inf. v. of رشح) s. m. Exu- ding, dropping (as, sweat, &c.). 2. Dripping, distilling. 3. A small rain.

تقطيع taḳt̤iﻌ A (inf. ii. of قطع) s. f. 1. The cæsura or pause in reading poetry. 2. Scan- ning of verse. 3. Cutting into parts, dissection.

تڙپانا taṛpānā H (causal of تڙپنا) v. a. 1. To put in great agitation. 2. To cause to flutter or stumble.

تل तिल til S s. m. 1. The seed of the Sesa- mum, or name of the plant (Sesamum orientale). 2. A mole on the face. 3. A moment, an in- stant. تلون مين تيل نـﮩين کـﮩنا tiloṅ meṅ tel nahīṅ kahnā, (lit. to say there is no oil in the seeds of Sesamum, is) To say snow is black, to deny the most evident truth.
