تاهري tāhirī H s. f. A kind of dish, viz. Rice boiled with baṛī (वटि), which consists of pulse (Phaseolus radiatus) ground in a wet state, mixed with ginger, pepper, &c. and dried in small lumps.

تيجا tījā तृतीया S̱. s. m. The third day after the death of a relation, on which oblations are offered. (Used among Musalmāns).

تومان tomān P s. m. 1. A myriad, 10,000. 2. A sum of money equal to 10,000 Arabic silver drachmas (which are about one third less than those of the Greeks): also, a sum equal to fifteen dollars and a half. 3. Districts, into which a kingdom is divided, each being sup- posed to furnish 10,000 fighting men. تعزيت taﻌziyat A (inf. ii. of عزي) s. f. Condo- lence, lamentation, mourning. تعزيت نامه taﻌziyat-nāma, s. m. Letter of condolence.

تشبيه tashbīh A (inf. ii. of شبه) s. f. A simile, comparison, allegory, metaphor. حرف تشبيه ḥārf-i-tashbīh, Adverb of similitude. تشبيه دينا tashbīh denā, To assimilate, liken, compare.

تقشف taḳashshuf A (inf. v. of قشف) s. The being clothed in poor garments and subsisting on scanty food.

تافته tāfta P s.m. 1. A kind of silk, taffeta. 2. A colour in pigeons and horses, glossy cream colour.
