تفتيش taftīsh A (inf. ii. of فتش) s. f. Examina- tion, inquiry, search, investigation, research.

تڙپڙا taṛpaṛā H s. m. The noise of falling water.

تقلب taḳallub A (inf. v. of قلب) s. m. Conver- sion, inversion, change, transmutation.

تور tor H s. f. 1. A kind of pulse. See توار. 2. A net thrown over a womanʼs pālkī. 3. (in the eastern dialect) pron. 2d. p. sing. gen. Thy, thine.

تلپهنا talaphnā H v. a. To flutter, palpitate, be agitated, to flounce.

تکهارنا tikhārnā S̱. (तर्क्क Reasoning, or r. तर्क Investigate, make clear) v. a. 1. To confirm, to prove, to establish by argument. 2. To in- quire earnestly. 3. To trifallow.

تشـﮩد tashahhud A (inf. v. of شـﮩ‍ادت) s. m. 1. Making a profession of religious sentiments. 2. Avowing belief in the unity of the deity and the mission of Muhammad.

تاکيد tākīd A (inf. ii. of اکد) s. f. 1. Confir- mation, emphasis. 2. Injunction, ascertaining. 3. Superintendence. تاکيدکرنا tākīd karnā, To enjoin strictly, to urge, to press, insist. A. P. تاکيدي tākid-ī, adj. Emphatick.

تندي tund-ī P (from تند q. v.) s. f. Acrimony, fierceness, sharpness, activity, impetuosity.

تيتر tītar तित्तिरि S̱. s. m. A partridge. (Per- dix francolinus). تيترکي منـﮩـ لچهمي tītar ke muṅh lachhmī, (lit. Good fortune proceeds from the mouth of the partridge, which is a small bird, of little estimation) A saying used when a person of mean understanding is chosen to de- cide in matters of which he is incompetent to judge.
