پسيجنا pasījnā प्रस्वेदन S̱. v. n. 1. To per- spire, to sweat, to melt. 2. To compassionate.

پرسورام parsūrām परशुराम S̱. n. prop. The sixth Avatār, descent upon earth or incarna- tion of Vish̤ṇu. This personage was the son of Jamadagni. He is, from his father, called Jāmadagni: and, the deity descended in this form to destroy the Kshatriyas (or Chh̤atrīs) who were become tyrannical. Renukā, wife of Jamadagni, was interrupted in bringing water from the river by Kārtavīrjārjuna, a prince of the Kshatriyas, who was sporting in the water with his thousand wives; for which Parasu- rāmaʼs father, Jamadagni, cursed him. The Kshatriya prince killed Jamadagni; and Jāma- dagni vowed not to leave a Kshatriya on the face of the earth. He is reported to have ex- tirpated them twenty one times; the women with child each time producing a new race: and, they say that there have been no Ksha- triyas since; those so called being of spurious breed, or Varṇasankars.

پان पान pān S s. m. 1. Drinking in general. 2. or pāṇi (for पाणि) The hand. 3. pān (for पर्ण) A leaf; betel leaf (leaves of Piper betel). پان اٿهانا pān uṭhānā or پان لينا pān lenā, To accept, to assent: see بيڙااٿهانا bīṛā uṭhānā, under بيڙا bīṛā. 4. pān, adj. in compos. (for پانچ pānch, q. v.) Five.

پوني paune S̱. (see پون paun) adj. One quarter less (either of one, or of the aggregate number which may follow).

پهينچنا phīnchnā H v. a. To wash cloth, to rinse, to squeeze.

پهاند phānd S̱. (see پهاندنا) s. m. 1. A noose, snare, net. 2. (met.) Perplexity, difficulty.

پهولا phūlā फुल्ल S̱. adj. 1. Swelled. 2. Blos- somed. پهولانسمانا phūlā na-samānā, Not to be able to contain oneʼs self from delight, to be overjoyed, to exult.

پينچنا painchnā H v. a. To winnow.

پـﮩنچا pahunchā H s. m. The wrist.
