پيدايش paidā-ịsh P (from پيدا) s. f. Birth, crea- tion, production; earnings, produce, profit.

پوا pauwā पाद S̱. s. m. 1. A quarter. 2. A weight or measure of a quarter of a ser.

پلا palā H s. m. A spoon, ladle for taking out oil, &c.

پروانا purwānā S̱. (caus. of پورنا from r. पूर Fill) v. a. To cause to fill.

پون paun पादोन S̱. adj. A quarter less (than one or any given number); three quarters. See پوني paune.

پليتا palītā P. (corrupt. of فتيله or پتيله) s. m. 1. A match (of a gun). 2. A candle. پليتاچاٿ جانا palītā chāṭ jānā, To flash in the pan.

پختري puḵẖtarī P s. f. 1. Cakes (or bread) which are laid over dishes when bringing to table, and under which the meat is kept warm. 2. Cakes imbued with clarified butter from being laid over certain greasy dishes, such as dopiyāza, &c. (These cakes are very soft and savoury; whence) ماماپختريان کهانا māmā puḵẖ- tariyāṅ khānā, To eat cakes of this description prepared by his mother, is applied to a person accustomed to luxury and incapable of labour or fatigue.

پرتيت partīt S̱. or pratīti, for प्रतीति s. f. Faith. confidence, trust. پرتيت کرنا partīt karnā, 1. To examine. 2. To believe. 3. To trust.

په pah H s. f. Dawn. په پهٿنا pah phaṭnā, v. n. To dawn, to grow luminous.
