پرچهانوان parchhāṅwāṅ S̱. (प्रतिच्छाया) s. f. Image (from shade or reflection), shadow, shade. پرچهاٴين اپني سي بهاگنا parchhāʼīṅ apnī se bhāg- nā, To be frightened at oneʼs own shadow.

پدا piddā H s. m. Name of a bird. S. پدارتهـ पदार्थ (पद see under پد, and अर्थ Meaning, request) padārth, s. m. 1. Thing, substantial or material form of being; a rarity, a good, a blessing, a delicacy or exquisite food. 2. The meaning of a word. 3. A category or predicament in logick, of which seven are main- tained, viz. substance, quality, action, identity, variety, relation, and non existence.

پچکاري pichkārī H s. f. A squirt, a syringe.

پير pair H s. m. The foot.

پلا palā H s. m. A spoon, ladle for taking out oil, &c.

پهپهسا phaphsā H adj. 1. Swelled. 2. Insipid.

پٿهونا paṭhaunā H v. a. To send.

پهٿ پڙنا phaṭ paṛnā S̱. v. n. 1. To be produced plentifully. 2. To become fat suddenly. 3. To be confounded with too much business. آسمان پهٿ پڙنا āsmān phaṭ paṛnā, v. n. To rain hard.

پرارنبهـ प्रारंभ prārambh S s. m. Beginning, com- mencement.

پنالي panālī S̱. s. f. See پناري panārī. پناپڙنا panālī paṛnā, To be very fat (a horse).
