پوربي pūrbī S̱. 1. s. f. (पौर्वी) The name of a rāginī sung before evening. 2. adj. (पौर्विक) Eastern, from the east. 3. A kind of rice from the east of Bengal.

پيٿهـ pīṭh पृष्ठ S̱. s. f. The back. پيٿهـ پرهاتهـ پهيرنا pīṭh par hāth phernā, To pat on the back, to encourage. پيٿهـ پهيرنا pīṭh phernā, To turn oneʼs back, to depart, to flee, to leave, to with- draw. پيٿهـ ٿهوکنا pīṭh ṭhoknā, To animate, en- courage. پيٿهـ دينا pīṭh denā, 1. To run away, to flee, to turn tail. 2. To turn, to shrink from, to veer. 3. To turn away in displeasure. پيٿهـ کي پيچهي پڙنا pīṭh ke pīchhe paṛnā, To take re- fuge or shelter. پيٿ کي پيچهي ڐال لينا pīṭh ke pīchhe ḍāl lenā, To protect, to defend. پيٿهـ لگانا pīṭh lagānā, To throw down in wrestling. پيٿهـ لگنا pīṭh lagnā, 1. To have a sore on the back (a horse). 2. To mount or to back a horse.

پهاندي phāndī H s. f. A bundle of 50 or 100 sugar canes.

پهدکنا phudaknā H v. n. To jump, to leap, to hop (applied to small birds), to dance about in token of delight.
