پهاڙنا phāṛnā S̱. (स्फाटन or caus. of پهٿنا q. v.) v. a. To tear, rend, split, break, cleave (wood, &c.), to tear open, burst, rip.

پهليا phaliyā S̱. (from फल) s. f. A cod, a pod (or the seed) of any legumi- nous plant, but particularly of peas. 2. A loop. پهلي کش phalī-kash, s. m. A hook for drawing the strings through the holes by which the walls of a tent are laced to the top.

پهوٿ phūṭ S̱. (स्फुटि r. स्फुट Separate, burst) s. f. 1. A kind of melon (Cucumis momordica: Roxb.). 2. A ripe cucumber bursting elasti- cally (as the Cucumis utilatissimus: Roxb. and Momordica mixta: Roxb.). 3. (स्फुट) Odd, unpaired. 4. Difference of opinion, dissension, discord. 5. Separation. 6. A flaw, breach, break. پهوٿ بکهيرا phūṭ bikherā, adj. Scat- tered, dispersed. پهوٿ پڙنا phūṭ paṛnā, To arise (dissension). پهوٿ پهوٿ ياپهوٿ کررونا phūṭ phūṭ or phūṭ kar ronā, To weep excessively, to burst into tears. پهوٿ رهنا phūṭ rahnā, 1. To be broken. 2. To be dispersed. 3. To be unpaired. پهوت هونا phūṭ honā, To be divided in opinion.

پهکنا phuknā H (from پهوک) s. m. A bladder.

پهٿک phaṭak स्फटिक S̱. s. Crystal.

پلپلانا pulpulānā H v. n. 1. To fear, to dread. 2. To take a morsel into the mouth, and from the want of teeth, being unable to chew, to turn it about.

پيلا pelā H s. m. 1. A testicle. 2. Fault, oppres- sion. 3. A prop, a support.

پسو pasū S̱. or pasu (पशु) s. m. A beast, an ani- mal. پسوپالک pasu-pālak, s. m. A cowherd.

پهينٿي pheṅṭī H s. f. A skein (of thread, &c.).
