پلنگڙي palang-ṛī पल्यंकी S̱. s. f. A small bed- stead.

پهساوٿ phasāwaṭ S̱. (from پهسانا) s. f. Entangle- ment, ensnaring.

پنکي pinkī S̱. s. f. 1. Intoxication from eating opium. 2. Drowsiness, nodding. See پينک.

پانچوين pānch-wīṅ पंचमी S̱. s. f. The fifth day of the moon or of the half month.

پختري puḵẖtarī P s. f. 1. Cakes (or bread) which are laid over dishes when bringing to table, and under which the meat is kept warm. 2. Cakes imbued with clarified butter from being laid over certain greasy dishes, such as dopiyāza, &c. (These cakes are very soft and savoury; whence) ماماپختريان کهانا māmā puḵẖ- tariyāṅ khānā, To eat cakes of this description prepared by his mother, is applied to a person accustomed to luxury and incapable of labour or fatigue.

پرش पुरुष purush̤ S s. m. A man, generally or individually, a male, mankind.

پرجا parjā S or prajā (प्रजा) s. f. A subject, tenant, renter, people.

پهساهندا phusāhindā H adj. Disgusting, stinking.

پيل pel S̱. (from پيلنا q. v.) s. m. Shove, push.

پٿي paṭṭī S s. f. 1. (पट्टी) A bandage, a fillet. 2. (पट्टिका) A quarter of a place. 3. The side pieces of the frame of a bedstead. پٿي پکڙکي هلتي رهنا paṭṭī pakaṛke hilte rahnā, de- notes excessive weakness and laziness. پٿي توڙنا paṭṭī toṛnā, To be bedrid. پٿي سي پٿي ملانا paṭṭī se paṭṭī milānā, expresses the most inti- mate proximity. 4. A row. 5. A kind of sweet- meat. 6. Division of the hair which is combed towards the two sides and divided by a line in the middle. 7. (पट्ट or पट्टी) A written or- der or patent.
