پرتهي pirthī, prithī S̱. or pirathī, (Sans. पृथिवी or पृथ्वी) s. f. The earth; ground.

پرورش parwarish P (from پروردن) s. f. Fostering, nourishment, maintenance, support, sustenance, rearing, patronising, breeding, education, protec- tion, patronage. پرورش کرنا parwarish karnā, To foster, patronise, nourish, cherish, maintain, nurse, educate, bring up, rear, support, &c.

پهڙپهڙانا phaṛphaṛānā H v. n. To flutter, to wave, to twinkle, to move with convulsive motion.

پکنا paknā पचन S̱. v. n. To be dressed or cooked, to ripen; to suppurate (as, an inflam- mation, bile, &c.); to turn grey (hairs). پکاپکايا pakā pakāyā, Ready cooked.

پهڙ phaṛ H s. f. 1. A gaming-house where dice are played. 2. A place where goods are ex- posed for sale. 3. The shafts or pole of a car- riage. پهڙباز phaṛ-bāz, s. m. 1. A player at dice, a gamester. 2. A prater, a talkative fel- low. پهڙبازي phaṛ-bāzī, s. f. Gambling, playing at dice.

پاتابه pā-tāba P s. m. A sock.

پيج paij H s. f. A vow, a promise. پيج کرنا paij karnā, v. a. To make a vow.

پت पित्त pitt S s. m. Bile, gall.

پاسي pās-ī S̱. (from पाश A rope) s. m. One whose business it is to make tāḍī. (So named from the rope round his leg when he climbs the تاڙ tree).
