پٿا paṭā S̱. s. m. 1. (पट्टिश) A foil, a wooden scimitar for cudgelling with. پٿي باز paṭe-bāz, (1.) A fencer, a cudgeller. (2.) (met.) A co- quette, a wanton, a strumpet. پٿاکاٿنا paṭā kāṭ- nā, v. a. To discharge from service. ¶ 2. (पट्ट) A board on which Hindūs sit whilst eating their meals or performing religious cere- monies.

پرشاد parshād प्रसाद S̱. s. m. See پرساد. S̱. پرشارتهـ पुरुषार्थ purushārath or purush̤ārth, s. m. Manliness, boldness, generousness.

پاکهنڐ पाषंड pākh̤anḍ S or pāsh̤anḍ, adj. Hypocritical, deceitful, heretical.

پتيل patīl P s. m. A match for a lamp, a link- stock, a candle-wick. (Arab. فتيل). پتيل سوز patīl-soz, s. f. The stand or support of a lamp.

پاٿهـ पाठ pāṭh S s. m. A reading, lecture, peru- sal (of a book), lesson.

پوروا porūʼā पर्व S̱. s. m. 1. A joint or phalanx of the fingers. 2. A joint of a tamarind.

پانت pānt S̱. or pānti (पंक्ति) s. f. A row; a line (of writing); a note, a rank of soldiers.
