پوش posh P (from پوشيدن) 1. part. in compos. Covering, clothed in, wearing, dressed; as پاپوش pā-posh (covering the feet) Shoes, slippers. سبزپوش sabz-posh, Clothed in green. کله پوش kulah-posh, Wearing a hat or cap. 2. s. A gar- ment, a covering.

پنچ पंच panch S 1. adj. Five. 2. s. m. A council, an assembly, a meeting, a company. 3. Arbitrators. پنچ پلو पंचपल्लव panch pal- lav, The branches of five trees which are used in religious ceremonies. پنچ شاکها पंचशाखा panch-shākhā (Pers. پنج شاخه) see پنجه panja, sign. 2. پنچ پريا panch-piriyā, 1. Any person, Hindū or other, who worships the five pīrs or saints of the Musalmāns. 2. A cast of ḥalāl- ḵẖors. پنچ پاتر पंचपात्र panch-pātr, s. m. A kind of vessel used by Hindūs during worship.

پاسي pās-ī S̱. (from पाश A rope) s. m. One whose business it is to make tāḍī. (So named from the rope round his leg when he climbs the تاڙ tree).

پهنسيارا phaṅsiyārā S̱. (from پهانسي q. v.) s. m. A footpad who strangles passengers or travellers.

پناري panārī प्रणाली S̱. s. f. A drain or pipe by which water runs off from the roof of a house.

پاره pāra P s. m. A strap, a slip, a piece, a bit, a fragment. پاره دوز pāra-doz, s. m. 1. A patch- er, cobler. 2. A tent-maker or one who applies the leather parts in tents, pardas, &c.

پڙوسن paṛosin S̱. (पार्श्विनी or प्रतिवेशिनी or प्रतिवासिनी) s. f. A female neighbour.
