پيو pīʼo S̱. or piʼu (प्रिय) 1. adj. Beloved, dear. 2. s. m. Husband, sweetheart, lover.

پربتيا parbat-iyā S̱. s. m. (from पर्वती Produc- tion of hills) A kind of pumpkin.

پان पान pān S s. m. 1. Drinking in general. 2. or pāṇi (for पाणि) The hand. 3. pān (for पर्ण) A leaf; betel leaf (leaves of Piper betel). پان اٿهانا pān uṭhānā or پان لينا pān lenā, To accept, to assent: see بيڙااٿهانا bīṛā uṭhānā, under بيڙا bīṛā. 4. pān, adj. in compos. پرانٿها parāṅṭhā H s. m. A kind of cake, paste. See پراٿها parāṭhā.

پـﮩنچا pahunchā H s. m. The wrist.

پرشا पुरुषाः purush̤ā S s. m. pl. (of پرش पुरुष q. v.) Ancestors, the ancients, predecessors.

پگڙي pagṛī H s. f. A turband. پگڙي اٿکنا pagṛī aṭaknā, To be obstinate, to persist or persevere. پگڙي چهپٿنا pagṛī chhapaṭnā, To practise de- ceit, to act treacherously.

پيک pīk H s. f. The juice of the betel leaf chew- ed and spit out. پيکدان pīk-dān, s. m. A vessel for holding betel spittle, a spitting-pot.

پوچهـ pūchh S̱. (from پوچهنا) s. f. Inquiry, investi- gation. پوچهـ پاچهـ pūchh-pāchh, s. f. Inquiry, interrogation.

پولي polī H s. f. 1. A term of abuse, simpleton. 2. (dakh. i. q. شـﮩدکاچهاتا) A honey-comb. S̱. پولي 1. pūlī (पूल) s. f. A small bundle of any grass or straw, &c. 2. paulī, s. f. See پوري paurī.
