اسم ism A s. m. Name, a noun. اسم با مسميٰ ism bā musammā, Name coinciding with the named, or name fitly denoting the qualities of the named. اسم جامد ism-i-jāmid, A noun pri- mitive. اسم جلالي ism-i-jalāl-ī, The name of God. اسم جنس ism-i-jins, A noun appellative or generick. اسم حالیه ism-i-ḥāliya, Present participle. اسم صفت ism-i-ṣifat, A concrete noun or adjective. اسم نویسي ism-nawīsī, s. f. A list or roll of names, a catalogue, file, muster- roll. (Plur. اسمأ asmā).

ابتر abtar A (from بتر Was destitute of a tail: Heb. Cut short) adj. Ruined, spoiled, worthless, destitute of good qualities, dissolute, disorderly, disordered, wanton. ابترکرنا abtar karnā, To ruin, spoil, disorder.

احب aḥabb A adj. compar. (of حبیب) More beloved, very or most lovely, amiable; a friend.

اولين awwalīn A adj. plur. (of اوّل) The first, the former; the ancients.

الول کلول alol kalol S̱. (see الول) s. f. Gambols, playsomeness, wantonness.

القاب alḳāb A s. m. plur. (of لقب) Titles, ho- norary names; forms of address, &c. in letters.

اعتصام iﻌtiṣām A (inf. viii. of عصمت) s. m. Abstaining from sin or what is unlawful.

اقل aḳṣạ A adj. compar. (of قصي) Extreme, most distant; the extreme, ex- tremely.

اعزه aʼiﻌzza A adj. comp. plur. (of عزیز) The most excellent, worthy or dear.
