پهاٿنا phāṭnā स्पटन S̱. v. n. To be torn, to be broken, split, rent, torn asunder, &c.

پتلي putlī पुत्तली S̱. s. f. 1. The pupil of the eye. 2. An image, a puppet, an idol, a doll. 3. The frog of a horseʼs hoof. (See پوتلي). پتلي کاتاراکرنا putlī kā tārā karnā, To honour or esteem as the apple of the eye. S. پتن पतन (r. पत Fall) patan, s. m. The act of falling. पत्तन pattan (in comp.) A town, a city.

پرچهاٴين parchhāʼīṅ S̱. (प्रतिच्छाया) s. f. Image (from shade or reflection), shadow, shade. پرچهاٴين اپني سي بهاگنا parchhāʼīṅ apnī se bhāg- nā, To be frightened at oneʼs own shadow.

پهينٿنا phenṭnā H v. a. To mix, to beat (as, eggs, &c.), to triturate.

پکهيرو pakherū S̱. (from पक्ष A wing) s. m. A bird.

پوجک पूजक pūjak S (r. पूज Worship) s.m. A worshipper.

پالکي pālkī H s. f. A litter, a sedan. پالکي سوار pālkī-sawār, One who rides in a pālkī. پالکي نشين pālkī-nishīn, Entitled to be carried in a pālkī. (Formerly, this privilege was granted by a King or Viceroy).

پشتي pusht-ī P s. m. 1. Support, a prop. 2. Al- liance, aid. 3. The cover of a book. (Sans. पुष्टि). پشتي بان pushtī-bān, An ally, sup- porter, aider. پشتي باني pushtī-bān-ī, s. f. Sup-

پاک سنڙسي pāk-saṅṛsī H s. f. A table vice, a bench vice. (This is a modern name; for the instrument was introduced by Europeans). P.A. پاک صاف pāk-ṣāf, adj. Pure, clean, undefiled, unpolluted.

پرديسي परदेशी par-desī S s. m. Foreigner, stranger. adj. Foreign.
