پرهيزگار parhez-gār P adj. and subst. Abstinent, one who controls his passions, continent, abste- mious, sober.

پهينچنا phīnchnā H v. a. To wash cloth, to rinse, to squeeze.

پالـﮩنگ pā-lahang P s. m. A tether, a halter.

پيڙي peṛī H s. f. 1. A kind of sweetmeat made with curds (dimin. of پيڙا). 2. A kind of betel leaf. 3. The indigo plant after being once cut. 4. The trunk of a tree. ¶ paiṛī, s. f. A ladder, staircase, flight of steps.

پهندلانا phandlānā S̱. (see پهاندنا sign. 2.) v. a. To ensnare, to entrap.

پخ paḵẖ P interj. Happy! bravo! excellent!

پٿي paṭṭī S s. f. 1. (पट्टी) A bandage, a fillet. 2. (पट्टिका) A quarter of a place. 3. The side pieces of the frame of a bedstead. پٿي پکڙکي هلتي رهنا paṭṭī pakaṛke hilte rahnā, de- notes excessive weakness and laziness. پٿي توڙنا paṭṭī toṛnā, To be bedrid. پٿي سي پٿي ملانا paṭṭī se paṭṭī milānā, expresses the most inti- mate proximity. 4. A row. 5. A kind of sweet- meat. 6. Division of the hair which is combed towards the two sides and divided by a line in the middle. 7. (पट्ट or पट्टी) A written or- der or patent.

پچوني pachaunī S̱. (r. पच Cook, &c.) s. f. The stomach. S. پچهـ पक्ष (r. पक्ष Take a part) pachh̤ or pakh̤, s. m. 1. A wing, feather. 2. The half of a lunar month, or a fortnight comprising fifteen days. 3. Side, party, assistance, adherence. 4. Partiality.
