پرا परा parā S prep. in compos. Back, back- ward, reverse, over. (Greek para).

پرپنچ parpanch प्रपंच S̱. s. m. Delusion, fraud, imposition, treachery, deceit, artifice.

پکوانا pakwānā S̱. (caus. of پکنا) v. a. To cause to be dressed or cooked, to cause to ripen.

پينا pīnā S̱. 1. (पान) v. a. To drink; to smoke (tobacco): subst. Drinking, &c. 2. (पिण्याक) s. m. The dregs or refuse (of linseed, &c.), the oil cake.

پسان pisān S̱. (r. पिष Grind, reduce to powder) s. m. Meal, flour.

پنجه panja P s. m. 1. A hand with the five fingers extended, claw, clutch, paw, grasp. 2. A sort of link or torch resembling the five fin- gers, which is also called پنج شاخه panj-shāḵẖa. 3. A hand made of ivory, &c. to scratch the back with. پنجه پهيرنا panja phernā, To over- come, to overpower. پنجه کرنا panja karnā, A kind of wrestling, wherein the antagonists lock their fingers together. پنجه کش panja- kash, 1. s. m. An iron instrument resembling a hand, with which wrestlers exercise themselves by locking their fingers into those of the instru- ment. 2. (A kind of bread) bearing the marks of five fingers.

پيشوا peshwā P s. m. 1. A leader, a guide, fore- man. 2. A title of the Mahārātta minister. پيشوالينا peshwā lenā, To meet and to receive (a friend or visitant).

پيلأي pīlā-ī S̱. (from پيلا) s. f. Yellowness.
