پهوکڙ phokāṛ H (from پهوک) s. m. Dross, refuse, trash, grains.

پنڐا panḍā S̱. (perhaps, for पंडित) s. m. A minister who presides at the temple of an idol. S. P. پنڐارا pinḍārā (पिंड Lump of food, and آر Bringer) s. m. A plunderer, a pillager (among Mahārāttas).

پنگهٿ panghaṭ S̱. (पानीय Water, and घट्ट A quay or landing place) s. m. A passage to a river, a stair or quay for drawing water.

پهو پهو phūphū H s. m. f. Fatherʼs sisterʼs hus- band, or fatherʼs sister.

پودنا podnā H s. m. The name of a bird. (Sylvia olivacea).

پهکيت phikait S̱. (from پهينکنا) s. m. A thrower (of a spear, &c.).

پدا piddā H s. m. Name of a bird. S. پدارتهـ पदार्थ (पद see under پد, and अर्थ Meaning, request) padārth, s. m. 1. Thing, substantial or material form of being; a rarity, a good, a blessing, a delicacy or exquisite food. 2. The meaning of a word. 3. A category or predicament in logick, of which seven are main- tained, viz. substance, quality, action, identity, variety, relation, and non existence.

پردهان pardhān प्रधान S̱. s. m. A president, leader, chief, a minister or counsellor of state.
