بلار billār विडाल S̱. s. m. A male cat.

بهوپا bhopā H s. m. A kind of faḳīr, a magician.

بن bun A s. m. Coffee before it is ground. (When ground, it takes the name قهوه).

بيوهر byohar व्यवहार S̱. s. m. A loan.

بيڙا beṛā वेटप S̱. s. m. 1. A raft, a float. 2. The raft which is floated by the Muhammadans in honour of ḵẖẉāja ḵẖiẓr. (Besides the anni- versary beṛa offered to propitiate him, hundreds of smaller ones with lamps may be seen on Thursdays of the month bhādoṅ particularly, which are offered by the Muhammadans to this saint). بيڙاباندهنا beṛa bāndhnā, v. a. To col- lect a crowd. بيڙاپارکرنايالگانا beṛā pār karnā or lagānā, To relieve from distress, to remove difficulties, to help one through a business (lit. to ferry over a raft). بيڙاپارهونا beṛā pār honā, To obtain deliverance from misfortune or distress, to succeed.

بنواس banwās S (वनवास) s. m. 1. Living in a wood, separated from oneʼs family. 2. (met.) Disinherited (a son).

بلشت bilisht P (Sans. वितस्ति) s. f. A span.

بـﮩکانا bahkānā H (trans. of بـﮩکنا) v. a. To balk, disappoint, mislead, deceive, beguile. S. بهکت भक्त (r. भज Serve) bhakt, 1. s. m. An adorer, a devotee, a votary, a zealot. 2. A Hin- dū performer for entertainment, a dancer, a player. 3. adj. Pious. 4. Desirous. بهکت راج भक्तराज bhakt-rāj, s. m. King or lord of the devout, an epithet of the deity. S. بهکت भक्ति (r. भज Serve) bhakti, s. f. Re- ligion, faith, devotedness, attachment, desire. بهکتونت bhakti-want, adj. Devoted, religious, pious.

بيمات be-māt विमाता S̱. s. f. A step-mother. بيمات بهاٴي bemāt-bhāʼī, A brother born of a different mother by the same father, a half bro- ther by the fatherʼs side.

بسد bisad S (विशद) adj. White, pure, clean.
