بهنٿواس bhanṭwās H s. m. Name of a grain, the fruit of the کوٴي koʼī or water lilly.

بهربهانڐ bharbhānḍ H s. m. The name of a prickly poppy. (Argemone Mexicana).

بروپ bi-rūp S (वि and रूप Form) adj. Dis- figured, deformed, ugly. بروپ هونا birūp-honā, To be disgraced.

برکهـ वर्ष barakh S or barkh or varkh̤a or varsh̤a, s. m. Rain; a year. See S̱. برس baras.

بس باس bas bās S̱. (r. वस Dwell) s. m. Abode, residence.

بروده birodh S (विरोध) s. m. Enmity, quar- rel, contention, dispute, contrariety, opposition.

بساتي bisāt-ī H One who sells every kind of things, a pedler, haberdasher.

بنده banda P s. m. A slave, a servant, bonds- man. بنده پرور banda-parwar, Cherisher of ser- vants (a respectful expression used in addressing a superiour; as, your honour!). بنده پروري ban- da-parwar-ī, s. f. Cherishing of servants. بندۀدرگاه banda-i-dargāh, The slave of (your) thresh- old. بنده زاده banda-zāda, Son of (your) slave, i. e. my son. بنده نواز banda-nawāz, Cherisher of servants or dependants, patron. (Pers. plur. بندگان or بندها).

بسواس biswās S (विश्वास) s. m. Trust, confi- dence, faith. بسواس گهات biswās-ghāt, s. f. Taking advantage of the confidence of others, treacherous friendship. بسواسگهاتي biswās-ghāt-ī, s. m. A treacherous friend, one who seeks to take advan- tage of the confidence placed in him.

بهنگنا bhangnā H s. f. A kind of fish.
