بيڙيا beṛiyā H s. m. 1. The name of a cast of Hin- dūs. 2. s̱. dimin. of بيڙا beṛā, q. v.

برهسپت वृहस्पति brihaspati S or vr̤ihaspati, s. m. 1. The regent of the planet Jupiter identi- fied astronomically with the planet: in mytho- logy he is the preceptor of the gods. 2. Thurs- day.

بچن bachan S (वचन r. वच Speak) s. m. Speech, talk, discourse, word, expression; pro- mise, agreement. بچن بندکرلينا bachan band- kar lenā or بچن بنده کرنا bachan bandh karnā, To bind by promise. بچن بنده هونا bachan bandh honā, To give oneʼs word, to promise, to be agreed upon. بچن پالنا bachan pālnā, To abide by a promise. بچن توڙنا bachan toṛnā, To break oneʼs word. بچن چهوڙنا bachan chhoṛnā, To break oneʼs promise. بچن دينا bachan denā, To promise, to agree. بچن ڐالنا bachan ḍālnā, To question, to ask, to inquire. بچن لينا bachan lenā, To receive a promise. بچن مارنا bachan mārnā, To conclude an agreement. بچن ماننا bachan mānnā, To obey. بچن نبهانا bachan ni- bhānā, To abide by a promise. بچن هارنا bachan hārnā, To promise, to agree, to give or pledge or plight oneʼs word, to affirm.

بسانا basānā S̱. (trans. of بسنا) v. a. To people, to colonize, to cause to dwell, to bring into culti- vation, to settle a country.

بنک bank S (वंक r. वक Bend, be crooked) s. m. A bending, a curvature, the reach or bend of a river. ¶ banik (वणिक्) s. m. A mer- chant, a trader.

بساط bisāt̤ A (from بسط) s. f. What is spread out; carpeting, bedding, a chess-board, dice-board, expanse, surface, expansion, &c. This word is, also, adopted for h. بسات bisāt, q. v. ¶ basāt̤, An extensive plain.

بانچها bānchhā S (वांछा) s. f. Desire, wish.

بهرجانا bhar-jānā S̱. (dakh.) v. n. To be proud. P.A. بـﮩرحال ba-har-ḥāl, adv. By all means, at all events, at any rate, some how or other.
