بيجنتي مالا baijantī-mālā S̱. (वैजयंती see بيجنتي and माला Necklace) s. f. A necklace especially worn by Vish̤ṇu in his several forms, and com- posed of the following jewels, produced from the five elements of nature: namely, the sapphire, from the earth; the pearl, from water; the ruby, from fire; the topaz, from air; and, the dia- mond, from space or ether.

بلند buland P adj. High, elevated, lofty, exalted, sublime, tall, loud. بلندپايه buland-pāya, adj. Of high rank. بلندحوصله buland-ḥauṣila, adj. Ambitious, aspiring. بلندرتبه يامرتبه buland- rutba or -martaba, High in rank or dignity. بلندکرنا buland karnā, To lift, elevate, raise up. بلندهونا buland honā, To mount, rise up, be- come high, ascend. بلندنظر buland-naz̤ar, adj. Aspiring. بلندهمت buland-himmat, adj. Am- bitious, high-minded. بلندهمتي buland-him- mat-ī, s. f. High-mindedness, ambition.

بٿهلانا biṭhlānā S̱. (caus. of بيٿهنا) v. a. To cause to sit down, to seat, to set, to settle.

بنده banda P s. m. A slave, a servant, bonds- man. بنده پرور banda-parwar, Cherisher of ser- vants (a respectful expression used in addressing a superiour; as, your honour!). بنده پروري ban- da-parwar-ī, s. f. Cherishing of servants. بندۀدرگاه banda-i-dargāh, The slave of (your) thresh- old. بنده زاده banda-zāda, Son of (your) slave, i. e. my son. بنده نواز banda-nawāz, Cherisher of servants or dependants, patron. (Pers. plur. بندگان or بندها).
