بيجنتي مالا baijantī-mālā S̱. (वैजयंती see بيجنتي and माला Necklace) s. f. A necklace especially worn by Vish̤ṇu in his several forms, and com- posed of the following jewels, produced from the five elements of nature: namely, the sapphire, from the earth; the pearl, from water; the ruby, from fire; the topaz, from air; and, the dia- mond, from space or ether.

بهدبهد bhad bhad H s. Sound made by the fall of a fruit or by the walking of a person, &c.

باه बाहु bāhu S s. f. An arm. See بانهـ.

بروج burūj A s. plur. (of برج) Bastions, towers, signs of the zodiack.

بزه baza P s. m. A sin, a crime. بزه کار baza-kār, A criminal, a sinner.

برهما ब्रह्मा brahmā S s. m. The Deity in the character of Creator, or matter personified. S. برهمانڐ ब्रह्मांड (ब्रह्म Brahm, and अंड an egg, to which the world is likened) brahmānḍ, s. m. 1. The globe, the world. (In creation there are said to have been innumerable Brah- mānḍas). 2. The top of the head.

بخشش baḵẖshish P (from بخشيدن) s. f. Gift, do- native, donation, grant, boon, reward, giving, beneficence, pardon, forgiveness, liberality, gene- rosity. بخشش دينا baḵẖshish denā, To reward. P.H. بخشنا baḵẖsh-nā, v. a. To give, to grant, to forgive, to pardon.

بسوي biswī S̱. (from विश्व) adj. Worldly, re- lating to the world.

بيدکا bedikā S (वेदिका) s. f. An altar, platform. See بيدي.

براقي barrāḳ-ī A. s. f. Brilliancy, splendour.
