بڙانا baṛānā S̱. v. a. To talk in oneʼs sleep, &c. See برانا barrānā.

بندش bandish P (from بستن) s. f. 1. The act or state of tying, binding. 2. Construction, inven- tion, contrivance, artifice, preparing a false story, collusion, making up a false account of a trans- action; cabal, intrigue, conspiracy. 3. Elegance (of style). بندش باندهنا bandish bāndhnā, v. a. To contrive, plot together, cabal, conspire. H. P. بندکشاد bind-kushād, s. m. Semen cito emit- tens morbo affectus.

بهاجنا bhājnā H v. n. To flee, to run away.

بدل ba-dil P With heart, in or on heart, heartily.

بلما balmā S̱. (वल्लभ) s. m. A lover, a hus- band.

باهر bāhar S̱. or bāhir (वहिर्) adv. Without, out, outside, abroad, away; adj. Foreign.

بل bal S s. m. 1. (बल) A name of the elder brother of Kr̤ish̤ṇā. 2. Power, strength. بل بي bal be, interj. Bravo! 3. or bali (बलि) Name of the king of Pātāla or the infernal re- gions. 4. A sacrifice, an offering. بل جانا bal jānā or بل بل جانا bal bal jānā, To be sacrificed.

بتول batūl A (Heb. ) s. f. A pure virgin.

بسم الله bismi-l-lāh A In the name of God, or بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم bismi-l-lāhi-r-rahmāni-r-raḥīm, In the name of God the most merciful. (An invocation generally used by Muhammadans at the beginning of all actions and works). بسم الله کرنا bismi-l-lāh karnā, To begin, to com- mence. بسم الله هوا bismi-l-lāh hūʼā, Said of a child who has just commenced learning to read.
