آوارجه āwārja P or awārija, s. m. A journal, a diary.

ارباک arbāk S̱. (अर्ब्बाक) 1. adj. Low, in- feriour, vile. 2. adv. Former, prior in time.

ارجنا arjanā अर्जन S̱. v. a. To gain, to ac- quire.

آب āb P (Sans. आपः) s. m. Water; splendour, lustre, elegance, dignity, honour, character; lustre or water (in gems); temper (of steel, &c.); edge or sharpness (of a sword): mode, manner.

استبرا istibrā A (inf. x. of برأ) s. m. 1. Cleansing, washing oneʼs hands of a business or desiring to be freed from it. 2. The waiting of a woman after being divorced from her husband, to as certain whether she is pregnant or not, before she can contract another marriage. (The term is three months, according to the Muhammadan law).

آرسي ārsī H s. f. A mirror (particularly, a mirror on the thumb). H.S̱. ارسیلي نینا arsīle nainā, adj. Having weak eyes, with eyes as if just awake.

آب پاشي āb-pāshī P s. f. Sprinkling water.

استرداد istirdād A (inf. x. of ردّ) s. m. 1. De- manding restitution of any thing, whether given, deposited in trust, or taken without consent. 2. Repelling, driving or forcing back.

اپراوري uprāwarī H adj. Quarrelsome, wrangling.

آشنائي āshnā-ī P s. f. Acquaintance, friendship. آشناٴي کرنا āshnā-ī-karnā, v. a. To associate, to be familiar, to unite. آشنائي لگنا āshnā-ī lagnā, v. n. To become intimate, to be united in friendship.
