الاق ulāḳ T s. f. A kind of small boat.

اکارتهہ akārath S̱. (perhaps, अकार्य्यता) adj. Unprofitable, fruitless, yielding no return, vain.

احراق iḥrāḳ A (inf. iv. of حرق) s. m. Act of burning or setting on fire.

آواهن āwāhan S̱. (आह्वान from आ and r. ह्वे Call) s. m. Calling, summons.

اگنا ugnā S̱. (उत् and r. गम Go) v. n. To grow, to be produced, to spring (as plants), to rise (as the moon). اگتي هي جل جانا ugte hī jal jānā, To be withered immediately on springing up (is applied to a hope or expecta- tion which is blasted in the bud).

ادنيٰ adnạ A adj. compar. See ادنا adnā.

اشتراک ishtirāk A (inf. viii. of شرکت) s. m. Partnership, fellowship.

ادهیایه अध्याय adhyāya S s. m. A section or chapter of a book, a lecture.

آمنا سامنا āmnā sāmnā S̱. (see سامنا) s. m. Con- fronting.

آکاس دیا ākās diyā आकाशदीप S̱. A lamp which the Hindūs hang aloft on a bamboo in the month kārtik.
