باپهـ bāph S̱. (Sans. वाष्प) s. f. Steam, vapour.

بينش bīn-ish P s. f. Seeing, discernment.

بارا bārā S s. m. A boy: see بالا bālā. S̱.P. بارادري bārā-darī, s. f. A summer house. See باره دري bārah-dar-ī, under باره.

بٿ پار baṭ-pār S̱. (باٿ Road, and پاڙنا To throw down) s. m. Highwayman, footpad, villain, cut-throat, assassin.

برندا वृंदा brindā S or vr̤indā, s. f. A plant wor- shipped by the Hindūs, commonly called Tulsī. (Ocimum sanctum).

بغلي bag̠ẖl-ī P (from بغل) 1. adj. Relating to the armpit, axillary. 2. s. f. A disorder in camels when they rub the thigh against the belly. 3. A purse. 4. A kind of dumb bell used in exer- cise. 5. A sort of dress, the bottom of which is under the armpits. 6. The action of a bird putting its head under its wing. بغلي تکيه bag̠ẖlī takiya, A bolster for the sides.

بندي bandī H s. f. 1. Name of an ornament worn on the forehead. 2. A dress shorter than the جامه jāma: see بنڐي 3. s. m. Name of a tribe called بهاٿ bhāṭ, q. v. who are gene- rally bards or panegyrists; a bard.

بدلا badlā A. s. m. Exchange, lieu, stead, a sub- stitute, recompense, revenge, requital. بدلالينا badlā lenā, v. a. 1. To alter. 2. To retaliate, take revenge. بدلي badle, In exchange, in re- turn for. A. H. بدلانا badlānā (caus. of بدلنا) v. a. To cause to alter, to change. A. H. بدلائي badlāʼī, s. f. Price of exchange. A. H. بدلنا badal-nā, v. a. To change, exchange, alter.

بچهڙنا bichhuṛnā S̱. or bichhaṛnā (वि and r. छुट Cut) v. n. To separate, to be separated.

بيعت baiʼaﻌt A s. f. Homage, fealty. بيعت کرنا baiʼaﻌt karnā, v. a. To become a disciple of some saint.
