بهيرون bhairoṅ भैरव S̱. s. m. 1. The name of a rāg or musical mode sung at dawn in autumn. (It is represented by Mahādeva with the Ganges flowing from his head and the rāg issuing from that deityʼs mouth). 2. A name of Siva; see بهيرو bhairav.

بهٿا bhuṭṭa H s. m. Indian corn. (Zea mays).

بارنا bārnā वारण S̱. v. n. To leave off, to separate. v. a. To forbid, to prohibit.

بيڙا beṛā वेटप S̱. s. m. 1. A raft, a float. 2. The raft which is floated by the Muhammadans in honour of ḵẖẉāja ḵẖiẓr. (Besides the anni- versary beṛa offered to propitiate him, hundreds of smaller ones with lamps may be seen on Thursdays of the month bhādoṅ particularly, which are offered by the Muhammadans to this saint). بيڙاباندهنا beṛa bāndhnā, v. a. To col- lect a crowd. بيڙاپارکرنايالگانا beṛā pār karnā or lagānā, To relieve from distress, to remove difficulties, to help one through a business (lit. to ferry over a raft). بيڙاپارهونا beṛā pār honā, To obtain deliverance from misfortune or distress, to succeed.

بازو bāzū P s. m. 1. The arm. 2. The fold of a door. 3. The side of a bedstead. 4. A friend, a companion. 5. One who repeats the chorus of the مرثيه mars̤iya, an accompanier, second or assistant in a song. بازودينا bāzū denā, To assist, to help, to support: see بانهـ دينا.

بسنتي basant-ī S̱. adj. Of yellow colour. (This was Krishnaʼs favourite colour).

بن بهانٿا ban-bhānṭā वनभंटाकी S̱. s. m. Wild (baiṅgan) egg-plant. (Solanum melongena).

بيادها byādhā S̱. (व्याध) s. m. A hunter, a fowler.

بارندگي bārandagī P s. f. Raining, rain.

ببيسيا babesiyā H 1. adj. Talking nonsense. 2. s. m. A catamite.
