بان bān : بان bān S̱. 1. s. f. Temper, quality, manners. (Sans. वर्ण Kind, quality). 2. (or vāṇ वाण) s. m. An arrow; a rocket used in battle. 3. The name of an Asur, son of Rājā Bali. 4. (for वान) The high tide in the Indian rivers commonly called the Bore. 5. A kind of rope made of مونج mūnj, used to form the bottoms of beds as well as for other purposes.
