ادهیڙ udheṛ H s. Unravelling, unweaving. ادهیڙ بن udheṛ-bun, Perplexity.

اولا olā S̱. (ओल adj. Wet) s. m. 1. Hail. 2. The name of a kind of sweetmeat. اولاهوجانا olā hojānā, To become cold. جون سرمنڐاياتون اولي پڙي joṅ sir munḍāyā toṅ ole paṛe, I had no sooner shaved my head than a shower of hail came on. (Spoken of one who has just en- gaged in an enterprise which turns out unfortu- nate).

اوٿ oṭ S̱. (perhaps, from r. वट Surround) s. f. m. Protection, shade, shelter, screen, covering, concealment, partition. اوٿ کرنا oṭ karnā, To conceal, screen, &c. اوٿ هونا oṭ honā, To be concealed, &c.

اوپ op H s. f. Brilliancy, brightness, beauty, elegance, lustre, polish.

ابهسارکا abhi-sārikā S (अभिसारिका) adj. f.

آمود आमोद āmod S s. m. Fragrance, odour.

اس us H pron. dem. sing. inflect. That, him, her, it. اس مین us meṅ, In that (time), mean- while, mean-time.

امام imām A s. m. 1. A leader in religious af- fairs, a prelate, patriarch, priest, chief. 2. A large bead in a rosary, which remains fixed in the hand and is not turned over in counting (called by the Hindūs sumeru).

امرت अमृत अ and r. मृ Die amr̤it S. (vulg. imrat) s. m. The food of the gods, ambrosia, nectar, the water of life, what is immortal or renders immortal, any thing sweet, water, wine, a guava.

اپردهان अप्रधान a-pradhān S adj. Subordinate, secondary, mean, powerless.
