ياد yād : ياد yād P s. f. (dakh. s. m.) Memory, recollec- tion. ياد آنا yād ānā, To come to mind, to re- cur. ياد آوري yād-āwar-ī, s. f. Remembrance. ياد بو yād-būd, A keepsake. ياد داشت yād- dāsht. s. f. A memorandum. ياد دلانا yād dilā- nā, To remind. ياد ده yād-dih, A putter in mind, remembrancer. ياد دهي yād-dih-ī, s. f. Putting in mind, reminiscence. يادش بخير yād-ash ba-ḵẖair, An expression used when men- tioning an absent friend. ياد فراموس yād-farā- mosh, Name of a game. ياد کرنا yād karnā, To recollect, to remember, to call to mind, to com- mit to memory. ياد گار yād-gār, s. m. Any thing given as a memorial, a valuable present to a mistress or friend, a monument, memorial, re- membrance, any thing remarkable or which re- calls a person or thing to memory. ياد گاري yād- gār-ī, s. f. A keepsake, token, memorial.

يرغمال yarg̠ẖamāl P s. m. An hostage.

يتيم yatīm A (from يتم Heb. and Aram. ) s. m. 1. An orphan, fatherless child, pupil, ward. 2. A valuable jewel. دريتيم durr-i-yatīm, A large and precious pearl which is found alone in the shell.

يکلاٴي yak-lāʼī P s. f. A veil (or cloak or sheet worn over the head and shoulders) of one breadth without a seam.

يہان yahāṅ S̱. (इह or from يہہ This, and स्थान Place) adv. Here, hither; at the abode, near, with. يہان تک yahāṅ tak, or يہان تلک yahāṅ talak, or (dakh.) يہان تگ yahāṅ tag, To this pitch, to this degree, thus far, hitherto. يہان سي yahāṅ se, Hence. يہان کا يہين yahāṅ kā yahīn, In the very same place, exactly here.
