هزل hazl A s. m. A jest, a joke, buffoonery. هزل گو hazl-go, An idle talker.

هيلاج hailāj P s. m. 1. The time of labour or birth. 2. (In astrology) A mark by which the duration of life is foretold. (It is said to signify a wife, and to be derived from a Greek word of that meaning, perhaps a)/loxos). H. S̱. هيلا مارنا helā mārnā, v. a. To shove, to launch, to dash through water.

هزبر hizabr A or hizbar, s. m. A lion. adj. Thick, great, strong.

هزليات hazliyāt A. s. plur. Jokes, jests, nonsen- sical talk, fiddle faddle.

هاپر hāpar H s. f. A seed-bed (or rather nursery) for sugar-cane.

هتهري hath-arī S̱. s. f. A handle, a winch (of a spinning wheel).

هون کرنا hūṅ karnā S̱. (हूम् or हुम् interj. of an- ger, fear, &c. or a mystical monosyllable, and करण making) To make the sound hūṅ, in an- ger, from fear, or as an incantation, &c.
