هوک hūk H s. f. Pain, stitch, ache, shooting pain, twitch. هوک هوک کررونا hūk hūk kar ronā, To weep with sobbing, or with repeated burstings forth.

هرداول hirdāwal हृदावर्त्त S̱. s. m. Name of a defect (in horses. It is a feather or curling lock of hair on the breast, which is reckoned unlucky for the rider).

هميشگي hamesha-gī P s. f. Eternity, perpetuity.

هيوانت hewānt हेमंत S̱. s. m. Name of a sea- son. See هيمنت hemant.

هژده hazhdah P adj. Eighteen.

هون کرنا hūṅ karnā S̱. (हूम् or हुम् interj. of an- ger, fear, &c. or a mystical monosyllable, and करण making) To make the sound hūṅ, in an- ger, from fear, or as an incantation, &c.

هلاک halāk A (from هلک) s. m. Perdition, de- struction, ruin, slaughter, death. adj. Lost, destroyed, fatigued. هلاک کرنا halāk karnā, To destroy, to overwhelm, to drive to destruc- tion, to distress, to fatigue, to kill. هلاک هونا halāk honā, To be killed, to perish, to be fa- tigued, to be tired.
