هندوستان hindū-stān P (هندو Indian, and ستان Place) s. m. India (particularly applied to the upper provinces).

هل چل hal chal H s. f. Fright, perturbation, hubbub, tumult, anarchy.

هيضه haiẓa A s. m. The cholera morbus, a flux and vomit.

هيبت haibat A (from هيب) s. f. Fright, pertur- bation, panick, horrour, dread, awe. هيبت دکهلانا haibat dikhlānā, To appal, to terrify. هيبت زده haibat-zada, Aghast, appalled. هيبت ناک haibat-nāk, Frightful, terrible, tre- mendous, dreadful, awful.

هرچند har-chand P adv. Howmuchsoever, how- soever, although. هرچند که harchand-ki, Not- withstanding, although.

هاها hāhā H s. m. Flattery, importunity, earnest request, supplication. هاها کهانا hāhā khānā, To flatter, to wheedle, to entreat, beseech.

هوک hūk H s. f. Pain, stitch, ache, shooting pain, twitch. هوک هوک کررونا hūk hūk kar ronā, To weep with sobbing, or with repeated burstings forth.

هجر hajr A s. m. Separation, disjunction, deser- tion of country or friends, absence.

هنگام hangām P s. m. Season, time, period.

هنڐانا hanḍānā H v. a. 1. To banish, to expel, to drive out of a city, to disgrace (by publick punishment). 2. To move round.
