نمت निमित्त nimitt S s. m. Cause, motive, in- strument; for the sake. (met.) Fortune. نمتي nimitt-ī, or نمتمان nimitt-mān, adj. Prosperous.

نصير naṣīr A (from نصر) s. m. An assistant, a de- fender, a friend.

ناري nār-ī A. adj. 1. Fiery. 2. Hellish.

نحر naḥr A s. Cutting the throat, slaughtering. يوم النحر yaumu-n-naḥr (Day of sacrifice) the tenth of the month ẕī ḥijja.

نباض nabbāẓ A (adj. superl. of نبض) s. m. One who feels the pulse, a physician.

ناٿکسال nāṭak-sāl S̱. s. m. (dakh. i. q. بهگتيا) An actor (for entertainment), a player.

نتيکرم नित्यकर्म्म nitya-karma S s. m. The constant or daily ceremonies of religion, the re- ligious duties which are of constant recurrence.

نسچي निश्चय nischai S 1. s. m. Certainty, ascertainment; trust, belief, faith. 2. adj. Actual, real, ascertained, certain, sure, indu- bitable. 3. adv. Certainly, actually, indubi- tably.

نکهـ nakh P. (corrupt. of نخ) s. m. The string of a paper kite.

نوش nosh P 1. part. act. (from نوشيدن) in compos. A drinker; as, باده نوش bāda-nosh, A wine-drinker. 2. s. m. A drink, a draught (especially, of something sweet and pleasant). 3. A present. 4. A reward. 5. An antidote. نوش جان فرمانا nosh-i-jān farmānā or نوش فرمانا nosh farmānā or نوش جان کرنا nosh-i-jān karnā, To eat, to drink (applied to a king or nobleman). نوش کرنا nosh karnā, To drink, to eat, to devour, to swallow, to sup, to sip.
