نيمه nīma P s. m. A garment like a jāma, but not so full at the breast, or with less cloth in the skirt. نيمه آستين nīma-āstīn, Half-sleeved, a particular kind of jacket. (It reaches to below the knee, is single-breasted, and fastened above by one button in the centre of the chest: it has short sleeves. Qanoon-e-islam). نيمه شام nīma-shām, Evening.

نتيکرم नित्यकर्म्म nitya-karma S s. m. The constant or daily ceremonies of religion, the re- ligious duties which are of constant recurrence.

ناخن nāḵẖun P (Sans. नख) s. m. Nail (of the finger, toe, &c.) talon, claw. ناخن گير يا تراش nāḵẖūn-gīr, or -tarāsh, s. m. An instrument for paring the nails with. ناخن لينا nāḵẖun lenā, 1. To pare the nails. 2. To trip or stum- ble (a horse).

ناسکا नासिका nāsikā S s. f. The nose.

نسبتي nisbat-ī A. 1. adj. Related, having reference to. 2. s. m. A wifeʼs brother.

نس निश् nis S (or nisi), s. f. Night. نسچر nis-char, s. m. A prowler: see نساچر beneath. نسچراٴي nis- char-āʼī, s. f. Prowling. نسچراٴي کرنا nis-char-āʼī karnā, To prowl. نساچر निशाचर nisā-char, 1. A demon. 2. A robber, a thief. 3. A noc- turnal animal, an animal that watches and feeds by night. نساکر يا نساناتهـ निशाचर nisā-kar, or निशानाथ nisā-nāth, The moon.

نگينه nagīna P s. m. See نگ nag, signif. 2.

نگندنا nigandnā S̱. (नि prep. and r. ग्रन्थ String or tie together) v. a. To quilt.

نرمه گوش narma-i-gosh P s. The lobe of the ear.
